Notice to EU importers (by sea)

As of 1 December 2024, a new EU regulation called ICS2 (Import Control System) will come into force, requiring importers of goods to the EU by sea to enter the tariff classification of goods (HS code) into customs systems through their intermediaries before the goods are shipped from the country of departure.

Shipments without this pre-declaration will not be loaded. Consignments found to be misclassified may be detained at the port of unloading and thus incur additional storage costs at terminals.
